2 Compare over time

Compare over

Enter the build fee from your quote to see the comparison. $0 down is $249/mo hosting with 12-month terms, and the build is part of that.

$0 down means 12 months of hosting at $249/mo, then month to month. Leave earlier and the remaining hosting or a buyout of the build is due. Hosting covers hosting, SSL, daily backups, and two small content updates a month. These totals use only the numbers you entered and are not quotes.

Paying for a website upfront and paying for it over time are both reasonable choices. The right one depends on how much cash you want to tie up today, what you will pay each month afterward, and how long you plan to keep the site.

$0 down is how we work: no build fee, $249/mo hosting with 12-month terms, and the build is part of that fee. This calculator lines it up against an upfront quote month by month, including the cost of financing the build if you would put it on a card or a loan.

How to read the result

The first number is the cash due on day one. Paying upfront, that is the build fee, unless you finance it. With $0 down, it is nothing.

The bars show the total you would have paid at each point in time. The upfront option starts high and grows by whatever its hosting and maintenance cost each month. The $0 down option starts at zero and grows by $249/mo.

If the upfront option's monthly costs are lower, its total eventually catches up. The calculator tells you the month that happens with your numbers. If it never catches up within the period you picked, $0 down costs less for that whole period.

When paying upfront makes sense

Paying upfront is a good fit when you have the cash set aside, you already have hosting and maintenance arranged at a cost you are happy with, and you plan to keep the same site for many years. It is also the usual route for projects bigger than our $0 down site, like online stores or custom apps, which our packages cover.

When $0 down makes sense

$0 down fits owners who would rather keep their cash for the van, the equipment, or the slow month, and who want the site written, built, hosted, and kept current by someone else. It is fully turnkey: we write, design, build, launch, and host it, and your site is live in less than a week.

It is not free. You commit to 12 months of hosting at $249/mo, then month to month. Read the terms before you sign, with us or with anyone else.

Ask the upfront provider before you compare

  1. How much is due before work starts, and when is the rest due?
  2. Are hosting and maintenance included, or billed separately?

Enter whatever you would pay each month in the calculator.

  3. What do changes cost after launch?
  4. Who renews the domain and the SSL certificate?
  5. How often is the site backed up, and who restores it?
  6. What do you keep, and what do you owe, if you leave?

Questions we get asked

What does it mean when paying upfront catches up?

It is the month when the total you have paid with the upfront option drops to or below the total you would have paid with $0 down. After that month, paying upfront has cost less in money so far.

Does financing the build change the answer?

Yes. Interest makes the upfront option cost more, and spreading payments out lowers what is due on day one. Choose Finance it and enter your rate and term to include it.

What happens after the first 12 months?

Hosting continues month to month at $249/mo. It still covers hosting, SSL, daily backups, and two small content updates a month.

What if I want to leave during the first 12 months?

The remaining hosting or a buyout of the build is due. The terms are in writing before we start.

Does the calculator send my numbers anywhere?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser, and nothing you enter is sent to us.
