Audio Flicks
The Challenge
Audio Flicks was launching something totally new—a category-defining entertainment format called an “Audio Film.” Think of it as a movie for your ears: cinematic storytelling, full cast, immersive sound design… but no visuals. Their debut production, Some Thing Borrowed, had just dropped on platforms like Audible and Spotify. But they had no central online presence to support it.
They needed more than just a landing page. They needed a digital home for the brand—a place to explain what Audio Flicks are, host new productions, give press and listeners something to link to, and start building momentum around this new genre. But launching a new format comes with unique challenges:
- It’s not a podcast. But if you just call it an “audio drama,” you’re underselling the ambition.
- It’s not a movie. But it’s produced at that level of quality.
- It’s not a book. But it’s fully scripted and structured like a screenplay.
The founders had a bold vision and a finished product—but no clear way to present it. Their challenge was threefold:
Explain what an Audio Flick is without sounding vague or overly technical.
Showcase their first production professionally and get people to listen.
Create a website that could grow with future projects and attract potential collaborators, investors, or media attention.
They didn’t want to look like a podcast startup or a bedroom side project. They wanted to look like a new studio—legit, cinematic, and creative. And they needed it done quickly so they could capitalize on launch momentum.
What we did
We approached this like building a digital studio front—brand-first, design-forward, and optimized for storytelling.
1. Messaging & Positioning
First, we helped craft a simple, clear narrative:
“Audio Flicks are full-length cinematic stories—told entirely through sound.
It’s like a movie. For your ears.”
This line became the anchor for the homepage and ad campaigns. From there, we built a brand voice that balanced creativity, professionalism, and intrigue—accessible to everyday listeners but strong enough to appeal to media and creative talent.
2. Site Structure
We kept the site simple but impactful, with five key sections:
- Homepage: Introduced Audio Flicks as a concept and linked to the latest production.
- Our Work: Highlighted Some Thing Borrowed with listen links, cast/crew, and artwork.
- About: Shared the studio’s mission, format, and creative approach.
- Submit Your Script: A call to creators, inviting screenwriters to pitch stories for production.
- Contact: A general-purpose form for inquiries, press, and collaborations.
3. Visual & Brand Identity
The site needed to feel like a film studio—modern, high-quality, and creative. We used:
- Dark cinematic background tones to evoke theater and mystery
- Large type and immersive imagery to match the storytelling experience
- Custom icons and subtle motion effects for a premium, interactive feel
We also sourced and placed direct platform links (Audible, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon) to drive listen-throughs and reviews.
4. Speed, SEO, & Flexibility
The site was built using Next.js with static export—fast, secure, and SEO-ready. We structured content for future schema markup (CreativeWork, AudioObject) and made it easy to add new productions later without redesigning the entire site.
We delivered the site in just under 14 days, ready for traffic and press coverage.
The impact
“The difference was night and day. Suddenly we looked like a legit studio, not just a passion project,” said Emanuel Nisan, the founder.
The new Audio Flicks website gave the brand its first real digital foundation—and immediately elevated how people viewed the project.
Here’s what changed post-launch:
- 🎧 First-time listeners converted faster — clear messaging reduced confusion and helped people “get it” right away
- 📰 Press inquiries became more confident — the site made it easy to understand the vision and contact the team
- ✍️ Script submissions came in — talented screenwriters saw the pitch form and sent samples within weeks
- 🔗 Platform engagement increased — Audible and Spotify traffic jumped after link consolidation and cross-promotion
Most importantly, the site gave Audio Flicks a professional platform that’s flexible enough to grow with them. As new productions roll out, the framework is in place to host, promote, and build momentum—without needing to reinvent the wheel.
For Artol Web Studio, this project was a chance to do what we love: help new ideas punch above their weight, with storytelling, design, and speed all working together to launch something exciting into the world.
